Bad Manors, an asymmetric 2v2 party style game, was the brainchild of Expresso Games during my final year at Niagara College in 2019. The unique premise of the game involves a team of teenagers exploring a haunted house in search of treasure, while a team of spectral beings aims to deter them by possessing inanimate objects in the house. The thrilling competition is staged as a game show with stakes high for both teams: the teenagers vie for the treasure, while the ghosts struggle for a chance to live another day in their cherished mansion.
As a game programmer for Bad Manors, I played an integral role in crafting the game dynamics by creating player controllers and AI. This engrossing project not only honed my programming skills but also led the team to several noteworthy achievements. Our effort culminated in an accolade at GD Launch 2019 at Niagara College, where we bagged the 3rd Year Project Award of Excellence. Additionally, at Level Up Toronto 2019, we triumphed with First Prize in Mobile and Social Gaming and Second Prize in Game Art. Our journey with Bad Manors further extended to the Niagara Comic Con 2019, where we were invited to represent Niagara College and proudly showcased our game.
